THE LAGOS STATE INTERNATIONAL YOUTHS DAY IS AN EXPOSITION FOR YOUTHS INITIATION ON AGRICULTURAL GLOBAL BUSINESS
.
The traditional mode of farming is seen by our youth, to be associated with hard physical work, low wages, uncertainty and dirtiness but an Agricultural sector that is transformed in a more stimulating environment with modern equipment and methods and reasonable returns would be more attractive to the Youth,
As quote by Honourable Commissioner for Youths and Social Development Mr Segun Dawodu
However the question is, "How is Lagos State planning to Educate 11 millions Youths that Agriculture is the way to development of TRANSFORMING FOOD SYSTEMS for Human And Planetary Health?
In a keynote by Honourable Commissioner For Agriculture "Under the Administration of Honourable Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu, we are very Youths Ecentric, We have to face the Challenges, even if many people consider Lagos State as a non Agricurian state but we are an Agricurian at heart" and will take the bull by it horn and everything we do will be centered around ensuring that our people are able to buy foods at the right prices and at right time to have a better disposable income to have a better quality at life".
The Agric Value Change Enterprise Activation, over Three thousands Women and Youths were Empowered to start thier businesses, the key focus on that program was the Lagos State Enterprenuership which formerly was "AGRIC YES PROGRAM" which means AGRIC YOUTHS ENTERPRISE SCHEME.We need to start changing the mindset of People that Agric is not just a Culture and Tradition that's a Business and it need to be treated as such
The Commisioner for Agriculture Miss Abisola Olusanya employs that the Energy and the Vibrancy we have, let's us begin to channel it to Agriculture, as it controls the Economy, the Leadership, The People, Relationship with other Countries and Clients, When we've what others demand, we stay in control and have a say but if we're import dependent, then we don't have a say,the future of the Country resides in our hands.
The Challenges of getting Land,Finances and good Infrastructure but we'll tackle it one day at a time We have Projects lined up for about Ten Thousands Youths to be Trained and Empowered,Recent we empowered about Two Hundreds Women and Youths in Badagry for Fish Production in the Waters and you don't have to be a Fisherman to become someone in the Aqua Culture Sector in the Fishery Sector
