Operation HADIN KAI Disrupts Suspected Terrorist Logistics Network, Arrests Five in Borno

Maiduguri, Borno State – Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, in collaboration with Hybrid Forces, have arrested five suspected terrorist logistics suppliers during a security operation in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State, dealing another blow to terrorist support networks operating in Nigeria's North-East.

According to a statement issued by the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, the operation was carried out at about 1:30 p.m. on July 20, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the movement of supplies suspected to be linked to terrorist activities.

Large Consignment of Medical and Commercial Items Seized

During the operation, troops intercepted the suspects while transporting a large quantity of veterinary drugs and medical supplies without the required waybills or supporting documentation.

Recovered items include:

• 491 cartons of Albe Stark 2.5% dewormer
• 100 cartons of multivitamin injections for animals
• 32 cartons of Diclofenac Sodium Injection
• 58 cartons of Benzylpenicillin Sodium BP
• 6 cartons of Dexamethasone Injection
• 51 cartons of Metronidazole Intravenous Infusion
• 30 units of 80-inch LG plasma televisions
• 152 empty Bagco sacks
• Seven mobile phones

Military authorities said some of the medical supplies were allegedly concealed inside the vehicles in an apparent attempt to evade security checks.

Investigation Ongoing

Preliminary investigations revealed that the consignment was reportedly destined for a vendor in N'Djamena, Chad Republic, while part of the concealed medical supplies was allegedly scheduled to be transferred to another truck near the Nigeria–Chad border.

The military believes the suspected transloading arrangement may have been intended to disguise the movement of the items and avoid detection by security agencies.

The five suspects are currently in the custody of the 24 Task Force Brigade, where further investigations are ongoing.

Military Intensifies Crackdown on Terrorist Supply Chains

Operation HADIN KAI described the interception as another significant achievement in its sustained campaign against terrorist logistics and support networks across the North-East.

Military authorities stated that cutting off supply routes remains a critical strategy in weakening terrorist groups by denying them access to materials needed to sustain their operations.

The operation reaffirmed its commitment to identifying and dismantling all individuals and networks that directly or indirectly support terrorist activities.

Stakeholders Advised to Comply with Documentation Requirements

The military also advised pharmaceutical distributors, transport companies, healthcare providers, humanitarian organisations and agrochemical dealers operating within the North-East to ensure that all bulk consignments are properly documented.

According to Operation HADIN KAI, where necessary, such movements should be coordinated with the appropriate military authorities to facilitate legitimate commercial and humanitarian activities while preventing the misuse of supply chains by criminal or terrorist groups.

Operation HADIN KAI called on residents to remain vigilant and continue providing timely and credible intelligence to security agencies.

The military noted that public cooperation remains essential in disrupting terrorist logistics networks, supporting ongoing counter-terrorism operations and sustaining peace and security across the North-East.
