Sunday Igboho Breaks Silence After Oyo Ambush, Says Injured Iru Ekun Operatives Have Recovered
Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has assured supporters that he is safe following the recent ambush on members of his private security outfit, Iru Ekun, in the Old Oyo National Park, Oyo State.
In a video message released on Sunday, Igboho dismissed rumours about his health and confirmed that all operatives injured during the attack have fully recovered after receiving medical treatment.
The incident occurred during a security operation targeting suspected kidnappers and armed criminal groups believed to be operating within the Old Oyo National Park. According to reports, the Iru Ekun team had deployed surveillance drones to monitor suspected hideouts before advancing into the forest, where they were met with heavy gunfire from suspected bandits.
Although several operatives sustained injuries during the exchange, Igboho said the attack has not weakened the group's resolve to continue confronting criminal elements threatening communities across the region.
Speaking in the video, he thanked supporters for their concern and reaffirmed his commitment to the fight against insecurity.
"I am safe. Those who sustained injuries have now recovered. We will not relent until those disturbing the peace of our land are driven out," he said.
