BREAKING: Senate voids ex-NNPC boss Kyari arrest warrant

Nigeria's Senate distanced itself from a Public Accounts Committee order to arrest former NNPCL CEO Mele Kyari after he skipped a ninth invitation to explain ₦210 trillion in flagged financial entries from 2017-2023.

Lawmakers ruled that committees cannot issue warrants without the Senate president's approval, voiding the order amid an ongoing probe into accrued expenses and receivables that NNPCL attributes to past joint ventures.

Kyari cited medical treatment abroad, while former CFO Umar Isa Ajiya called the figure impossible given the company's ₦54.5 trillion revenue, urging a forensic audit as tensions highlight NNPCL's long-standing transparency issues.

The Senate has move to debunk Oshiomhole calls to investigate Kyari over N210 trillion Misappropriation
