Zahra Buhari Now Ambassador For Sickle Cell Foundation

The Sickle Cell AId Foundation was set up to raise awareness on the issue of sickle cell as well as ensure that people make more responsible decisions to protect the future of their children. It also seeks to help people born with the Sickle Cell disorder access healthcare as well as live normal healthy lives.

Zahra Buhari shared her experience with the sickle cell disorder as she disclosed that she lost a relative to sickle cell anemia.

“I was impressed with the amount of work SCAF has been doing with so little resources. I also lost a sister three years back due to sickle cell anemia, so I know what it feels like losing a loved one. Becoming an Ambassador of SCAF is a way to show my support to those suffering from sickle cell anemia.” She said

The Sickle cell aid foundation was set up by Nkechi Azinge and she revealed that the choice of Zahra Buhari as ambassador was as a result of her passion.
Azinge said, “Zahra is a passionate and committed lady who is keen to lend her support in any way possible. We are certain that Zahra’s involvement will help raise exigent awareness and ensure that more sickle cell sufferers get the help they need.”
