Next week sees the ceremony for the 2013/14 Golden Boot award by European Sports Media Association (ESM). The award was shared by Ronaldo and Suarez, but any hopes of a shared ceremony have been dashed, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Former Manchester United star Ronaldo has allegedly refused to receive the award at the same ceremony as Barcelona’s Luis Suarez, instead demanding a completely separate one held in November.
This will be the Portuguese talisman’s third Golden Boot, something also achieved by Lionel Messi. Luis Suarez will be collecting his first award, but since his move to the Catalan giants he has hopes of winning many more.
The pair may meet on the field in the highly anticipated El Clasico at the Bernabeu on the 26th of this month. It will be the first time Suarez is available for selection by his new La Liga club, and what a debut it could be.
