RCCG Pastor Escapes From Boko Haram’s Captivity

Abducted Redeemed Christain Church Of God pastor, Rotimi Obajimi, has reportedly escaped from Boko Haram, after being in captivity for 10 months.
According to media reports, Obajimi, who is the pastor of a rural area in the Borno/Yobe province, gained his freedom in Borno on Tuesday, 7 October.
Boko Haram insurgents kidnapped him, while travelling to Maiduguri earlier this year in January.

A Redeemed Church pastor in Maiduguri said it was a pleasant surprise to see Obajimi emerge out of the blue. He said, “We were so amazed to see him because we have been praying earnestly for long time trusting Jesus that he would surely come back but lo and behold he was brought to our headquarters in Maiduguri by the military.”
Obajimi was reported to have said that, ‘he was held for months at Sambisa forest, after which he was moved to an unknown destination and later back to Sambisa forest.
He attributed the success of his escape to a heavy downpour that led to a massive flood in the terrorists’ camps.’
As a result of the torrential downpour, the militants left him and others unguarded, which made it possible for him to escape. He said he wandered in the forest for days before arriving at a village where he was met the presence of Nigerian troops, who took him to Maiduguri.
Subsequently, he was taken to Maimallari Hospital by military escorts, with his face covered. Meanwhile, a military source at 7 Division has confirmed the escape of Pastor Obajimi, saying that he has been fully debriefed by the military.
